There are often a number of questions which our clients ask – we have supplied you with some of those:
Q. HOW LONG DOES A COST ALLOCATION STUDY TAKE?
A. The actual study normally takes about three to six weeks from the time we receive all of the documents – but will depend upon the size of the property and the number of locations analyzed.
Q. WHAT IS NET PRESENT VALUE?
A. The discounted value of future cash flows (tax savings) in terms of present dollars.
Q. CAN’T MY CPA DO A COST ALLOCATION STUDY FOR ME?
A. Not all CPA’s have experience in Cost Allocation – and often they do not have an engineering specialist on staff. If your CPA is not experienced – we will gladly work with them to complete your Study.
Q. I HAVE MY OWN ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS – MAY I USE THEM?
A. Our experience indicates that it is most cost effective and beneficial to use our Alliance Partners – who are familiar with and specialize in Cost Allocation. They are trained specialists and know the components that qualify and have proven track records relative to the necessary documentation and support of the work. For this reason, CRG is better positioned to withstand any IRS scrutiny or challenges.
Q. WILL A COST ALLOCATION STUDY SAVE ME ANY MONEY?
A. A CRG Study will often generate additional depreciation of approximately 30% to 50%
